There are small reinforcement ridges inside.  Ridge to ridge I.D. is 1.28". 
Interior wall to wall I.D. is 1.45"

These will fit 223/5.56 uppers.  Will also fit AR Pistol builds that have 223/5.56 upper barrel nut threading such as the 300 Blackout and the AR-9.
